Yawn's guide to Belgravia

London is more than one place – it is a combination of vibrant villages, districts, and boroughs.

We wanted to highlight one of Yawn's favourite districts in our amazing capital. Belgravia is just a short stroll from London Victoria (a 12-minute meander to be more precise) and offers walks along stunning streets of Georgian and Regency terrace houses, a delicious array of eateries, and a lovely selection of independent shops to enjoy.

This is the official Yawn guide to a weekend in Belgravia.

Sleep

The Orange

Originally built as a brewery in the 1800s, the Orange has recently undergone a dramatic revamp under the direction of Cubitt House Director Georgina Pearman. The Orange Boutique Hotel has 4 stunning bedrooms, featuring the best of British craftsmanship and design. Each element is carefully chosen to champion the best of independent British interiors – it’s absolutely stunning.

Shop

The Farmers Market

There is nothing quite as wholesome as a classic London Farmer’s Market. Every Saturday, from 9am-2pm, Orange Square becomes vibrant with a market offering a range of seasonally fresh fruit and veg, as well as juices, fresh pasta, eggs, and artisan breads. A lovely spot for enjoying the atmosphere and an absolute must on a sunny London Saturday.

Bayley & Sage

A lovely and heartfelt independent retailer with stores across London, Bayley & Sage is the perfect shop to peruse whilst venturing out to explore Belgravia. Full to the brim with delicious treats, flowers, and unique homeware accessories - this is a great place to visit if you need to pick up a few gifts (even if those gift tags will read ‘to me, from me’.

Chelsea Textiles

This is a particularly beautiful shop for those who appreciate antique design and fine craftsmanship. Chelsea Textiles recreates antique textile designs completely by hand, using authentic materials and expert craftsmen. Inspired to keep antique textile crafts available for future generations, Chelsea Textiles is a must-see for everyone who loves beautiful things.

Do

Biscuiteers Icing Lates

A little something for the artistic biscuit-eaters (which I think is all of us on some level…), the Biscuiteers School of Icing teaches all the masterful skills needed to create some of Biscuiteers most iconic biscuit designs. A lovely activity for those looking for something creative - and it is always so much more enjoyable to work on a craft that tastes so delicious.

Street strolling

The iconic Georgian streets of Belgravia are absolutely perfect for simple daytime strolling. Elizabeth Street is a particular favourite as it’s lined with flower displays, outdoor café tables spilling into the streets, and the perfect array of shops for exploring and window shopping.

Cadogan Hall

The historic Cadogan Hall was first built as a church in 1907 and has become one of the most famous venues in London. If you are looking to hear a symphony orchestra, catch a comedy show, or hear an insightful talk from inspiring leaders, make sure to find out what’s on when you’re in town.

Eat

Koub

If you’re in the mood for a coffee break, Koub’s delicious speciality coffees and sweet treats are sure to tide you over between your street strolling and window shopping.

The Orange

Not only is it the perfect place to rest your weary head after a day of exploring, the Orange is also a unique dining experience. Set across three dining rooms, the space is intimate yet light, with large windows overlooking the bustling Pimlico road. Their Mediterranean-inspired take on pub classics features large sharing plates and wood-fire pizzas. The ultimate spot for a final tipple after a day of Belgravian adventures.
