At Yawn, we care about slowing down - from unwinding slowly in the evenings, to slow fashion that lasts. But with the Christmas season well and truly upon us, taking it slow can feel impossible. We're here to share some handy hints and tips to get into the Christmassy mood - all without losing your head!
Follow these tips for a stress-free, sustainable, and stylish entrance into this festive season x
1. Visit your local Christmas market or local independent market
When major Christmas markets become overwhelming, we prefer to head out to markets filled with independent business and brands. Check out the Urban Makers Market in London or the Night Market at the Biscuit Factory in Edinburgh. Both feature artisans and local designers' products to support independent brands, like us!
2. Go Christmas decorations shopping
Instead of buying new, why not use pre-loved decorations for your Christmas tree and for around your home. Pop to your local charity shop for second-hand decor and baubles for the tree. An alternative is grabbing some do-it-yourself, arts and crafts Christmas decorations, like paper chains or hanging snowflakes - keep it simple for a super therapeutic evening activity!
3. Don your fave Christmas PJs to watch an Xmassy film
Grab a mug of hot chocolate, a good book or Christmas movie, and a pair of Yawn's luxury PJs. Our festive Christmas pyjama prints include our bestselling Treetops and Tales PJ set (limited availability, while stocks last) or our beloved Port in a Storm pyjama gift set, with matching bed socks and gift wrap included!
4. Head out for a winter-y walk
If you can, head out into your local nature spot to get some fresh air. Make sure you wrap up extra warmly to avoid getting a chill. Insider tip: the best winter walks involve popping into a pub en route for a warming mug of mulled wine. Pubs with a glowing fire get extra brownie points ;)
5. Put together a Christmas playlist
There's nothing like the perfect Christmas playlist filled with the best festive hits that you can listen to over and over and over. Pack it with songs you grew up listening to as you unwrap presents or for around the dinner table. And make sure to bring out your fave dance moves - Hugh Grant in Love Actually-style (can't beat it!)
